Bruce Peninsula National Park is CLOSED to the Public

In support of Grey Bruce Health Unit’s declaration of a critical threshold for Covid-19 case increase in the region, Bruce Peninsula National Park is closed until 11:59 p.m. on April 16, 2021. Decisions beyond this period will be made as guidance from public health authorities is updated.

Closed areas include:

  • Cyprus Lake Campground and trails
  • The Grotto and Indian Head Cove
  • Halfway Log Dump
  • Singing Sands
  • Visitor Centre and trails
  • Little Cove
  • The Bruce Trail from Crane Lake to Little Cove

Bruce Peninsula National Park offers semi-wilderness, yurts and backcountry camping, in ideal locations for your park adventure.

Reservations required from May 1 – Oct 20, 2021

  • Parks Canada Reservation Service or call 1-877-737-3783. opens April 19, 2021 at 8 am
  • Camping is not permitted under Ontario’s Declaration of emergency and province wide stay-at-home order. (In effect from April 8 – May 6, 2021. May be extended)
  • Reservations cannot be booked for camping dates that will occur before May 6, 2021

Campers staying at the Cyprus Lake Campground can hike to the Grotto from their campsite. If you’d like to park in the Grotto parking lot, you will need to book a parking space in the same manner as anyone else.

Camping in the park is popular, reservations are required.  from May through October. Weekdays in the spring and fall offer opportunities with fewer people, natural attractions, bird migrations, spring flowers and fall colours.

Certain rules and regulations apply when camping at Bruce Peninsula National Park.

Campground rules

  • Quiet hours are in effect from 10 pm to 7 am.
  • Alcohol and cannabis consumption bans are in effect during quiet hours.
  • Feeding campfires after 11 pm is prohibited.
  • Long weekends: A full bans on the possession of alcohol and cannabis are in effect. The weekends when alcohol and cannabis are not permitted in the park at any time are:
    • Victoria Day Long Weekend (May 20 - 25, 2021)
    • Canada Day Long Weekend (July 1 - 4, 2021)
    • Civic Holiday Long Weekend (July 29 - August 3, 2021)
    • Labour Day Long Weekend (September 2 - 7, 2021)
    • Thanksgiving Long Weekend (October 7 - 12, 2021)
