History
Constructed: 1908-1914

The firm Rogers & Dennon was awarded the contract for this section of the Ontario - Rice Lake division. R.B. Rogers, a former Canal Superintendent responsible for the Peterborough Lift Lock, pioneered the use of concrete on the canal. He insisted on the highest quality of workmanship from his labourers but lacking equipment and capital, the firm took 8 years to finish the work.
