  • Special event – Cycling on the Parkway

    An early spring due to exceptional conditions means we can offer an exclusive weekend of cycling on May 18, 19 and 20. The Parkway will be accessible between 9 am and 4:30 pm The last cyclists will be able to set off at 2 pm.

    Dry toilets will be available at rest stops along the Parkway.  Cyclists will need to bring their own water supplies to the Rivière à la Pêche Service Centre which will be open.

    Cyclists must ride in line on the shoulder of the road, as safety vehicles may be in the area. You are responsible for your own safety and must be self-sufficient in the event of mechanical breakdown. 

    Schedule

    - May 18 : 9 am to 2 pm
    - May 19 : 9 am to 2 pm
    - May 20 : 9 am to 2 pm

     

    Safety

    - Cyclists will have to ride in single file on the shoulder of the road, as security vehicles may be on the road.
    - The Parkway will be open between 9 am and 4:30 pm each day.
    - Last departures will be allowed at 2 pm on each day.
    - Cyclists are responsible for their own safety and must be self-sufficient in the event of mechanical breakdown.
    - Outhouses will be accessible along the road.
    - For water replenishment, plan to stop by the Rivière à la Pêche Service Centre.

    Cyclists in the park have until 4:30 p.m. to complete their route. Anyone using the Parkway outside these hours may be liable to prosecution under section 24(1) of the Canada National Parks Act.

    This activity is an event organized every fall on Thanksgiving Sunday, to thank nature for what it provides all year round. A series of activities will be offered so that visitors can take the time to thank nature and reconnect on the Shewenegan Picnic Area.
